Book Project International 2017

Du 5 au 7 octobre 2017 dans l’espace de la Galerie Anna Tschopp à Marseille

Depuis 1998 à Marseille, l’Atelier Vis-à-Vis organise Book Project International, en invitant éditeurs, artistes, poètes et performeurs à questionner, débattre, et découvrir l’édition de création et le livre d’artiste.
A cette occasion nous invitons un certain nombre d’artistes aux approches plurielles, autour d’un thème.
En 2016, c’est le thème « Jardin d’Artiste » qui fut choisi. Dans une continuité en 2017, l’axe » Végétal » a été privilégié.
Toutes les approches sont possibles, estampe, dessin, peinture, sculpture, livre d’artiste, vidéo, installation…
Les invités pourront aux choix :

– Soit présenter une œuvre ayant comme source d’inspiration ou base de travail, un ou plusieurs de ces livres.

(Les livres d’artistes sélectionnés seront accessibles aux participants soit à l’Atelier Vis-à-Vis soit sur notre site).

– Soit présenter une œuvre originale sur le thème choisi.

Les oeuvres des artistes invités seront exposées durant Book Project International. La manifestation aura lieu durant 3 jours, avec une programmation mêlant livres d’artistes, œuvres plastiques, vidéos, performances et workshop sérigraphie autour d’un projet d’édition in situ.
Le livre d’artiste et l’édition de création étant le pivot central de la manifestation, une sélection de livres d’artiste internationaux inspirés du végétal sera présentée.

in the space of Galerie Anna Tschopp – Marseille/France

Book Project International is an international event organised by Atelier Vis-à-Vis since 1998 in Marseille. It
is an encounter of Creative Editions where Atelier Vis-à-Vis gather publishers, artists, professionnels of
edition, poets, performers, to question and to discover the creative edition and artistʼs book.
In 2016, the theme was “Artist Garden” and as a continuation in line with this theme we have choosen “vegetal”
for 2017. We are now calling for artists from multidisciplinary approaches around this theme. Any
approach is possible such as printmaking, drawing, painting, sculpture, artistʼs book, video, installation etc…
Artists can choose to present :

– a work which was inspired by artistʼs books from our collection.

(Participants can see artistʼs books at Atelier Vis-à-Vis à Marseille or on our website)

– an original work inspired by the theme “vegetal”.

Works of selected artists will be exhibited during the Book Project International 2017.
The event will take place during 3 days with its program : exhibition of art works and artistʼs books, vidéo, performance
and silkscreen workshop around an editorial project.
Artistʼs book is the center of the event. A selection of international artistʼs books which were inspired by vegetal
will be exhibited.
